GRIMA for Hancocks brings together two of Britain’s most distinctive jewellery houses in a series of five unique jewels. Three years in the making, the series grew from the long-standing friendship between Francesca Grima, Creative Director, GRIMA, and Amy Burton, Creative Director, Hancocks London, and a shared belief in the importance of original design, exceptional craftsmanship and jewellery created to endure.

We are delighted to collaborate with The Sunderland Collection on our third collection together. For “Portolan”, we were inspired by historic portolan maps and the rhumb lines that cross their surfaces. We wanted to reinterpret these graphic lines and patterns in a sculptural and wearable way, while ensuring the pieces remained very much rooted in the Grima aesthetic - bold, architectural and contemporary, yet connected to the artistry of these extraordinary maps.

The new collection of handcrafted jewels comprises three pairs of earrings in a
limited edition of six in textured gold with diamonds, textured platinum with
diamonds, and platinum with pavé diamonds. The collection also features two
unique pieces: the first in hand-carved frosted rock crystal and diamonds, and a
second in hand-carved black jade and diamonds set in platinum.
